Blast From the Past
Not only has it been a while since my last post but a while since I had spoken to my best friend from high school. It all began a few weeks ago when, at work, I had what we call a manual callback form cross my desk. It had the name of my best friend, Marty Bowles, written on it. I decided to call the number listed and talk business with him. As the conversation continued I knew this wasn't the same man but figured I would share my ulterior motives with him.
Not being the person I had hoped to be able to contact I thought, "Why not try classmates.com again?" I had tried this in the past to no avail. I knew Marty had also signed up for classmates but I hadn't been able to contact him because I wasn't willing to pay the membership fees. Okay, call me what you want. Maybe I am cheap, but I just couldn't justify spending that money to contact someone that I should be able to get contact info for free.
So I tried sending an e-mail and to my amazement Marty responded. It took me a while, busy with family, school, and work, to get back to him and last night we finally connected and caught up. I had a great time on the phone catching up on the time that has transpired since we last spoke. I look forward to when we will be able to meet again and get our familes together .
All that from a simple call back sheet that was pushed across my desk.
